Adult Confirmation & OCIA
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (formerly known as RCIA) is a class that guides participants through the process of joining the Catholic Church.
Become a Catholic
Most who join this class find themselves discerning whether their faith journey is leading them toward the Catholic Church, some simply desire to learn more about the faith of their spouse or loved one. The OCIA program at St. Ignatius is designed so that as participants explore their personal faith story, they are also connecting to the greater St. Ignatius community through some of the larger group classes and through Mass attendance.
Adults from many walks of life participate – adults who are new to faith practice, Christians who are baptized in another denomination, or baptized Catholics who have not received the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. OCIA classes are held weekly and begin each year in September, culminating at the Easter Vigil when participants are invited to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Communion.
